The Secret of Think and Grow Rich - Part I

Part I

Think and Grow Rich is undoubtedly the most read success classic in history but I wonder how many people have gleaned the “secret” that Napoleon Hill speaks about in the beginning of the book. As a matter of fact, he says that Vestel WM 847 T this secret is mentioned at least one hundred times throughout the book.

I was thinking about this secret one day and the result is this three part article you are reading right now. My goal is to identify what the secret is by analyzing the story of Edwin C. Barnes and his quest to become a partner with Thomas Edison.

This is what happened…

Early one morning I was inspired LG WD-10170ND to read Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill.

I have always been intrigued by this success classic but during ARISTON ARSL 109 this period of time I decided to review it to see if I could discern the secret that Mr. Hill mentioned in the first part of the book.

I decided to read and dissect the story about Edward C. Barnes and his quest to become a business partner with Thomas Fly Edison. I sometimes wonder what all the controversy is about. I remember going to a meeting with some other Christians and listening to the preacher talk about God’s blessings. After the event was over, one Whirlpool AMW545IX of the people I was breathed a sigh of relief and said, “For a minute there I was worried that he was going to start preaching health and wealth.”

I believe that I understand what this person was getting at, but I have to ask: “Would you have felt better if he had preached sickness and poverty?”

There is a lot of confusion around the topic of God’s blessings in our lives and what it means to live an abundant life. And I have no doubt that some preachers are simply teaching something that a lot of people want to hear, and they may not be all that sincere. But I also believe that God wants to bless His LG 29FX4BLX people, and no they don’t have to wait until they get to heaven, and yes they can, and should, create and enjoy wealth in this life.

A story from the Gospels that is often cited when talking about the evils of riches is the story of the rich young ruler. This young man came to
